I repose in this quiet and secluded spot not from any natural preference for solitude, but finding other cemeteries limited as to race by charter rules, I have chosen this that I might illustrate in my death the principles which I advocated through a long life: EQUALITY OF MAN BEFORE HIS CREATOR.

Join The Committees' Equality of All Campaign to Eliminate Racism and Bigotry from Our Society

The Equality of All Campaign is premised on the simple tenet that the ideals of universal equality, liberty, and the right to happiness embodied in the U.S. Constitution apply to all people.  The United States is a nation built and made better by people from diverse backgrounds.  We have made tremendous progress over the past decades to eliminate the evils of bigotry and racism from our public discourse, but now all of that hard work and sacrifice is at risk.

The purpose of the Equality of All Campaign is to push back and once and for all eliminate racism and bigotry from our public discourse.  If we can eliminate the poisons of racism and bigotry from our public discourse, we have taken the first essential step to finally ending hate and division in our country.

DO NOT LET BIGOTS SERVE IN OUR GOVERNMENT

Donald Trump has appointed several people with racist and bigoted views to positions of power.  It is crucial that the American people send a clear message that we will not tolerate the appointment of racists, sexists, or bigots to positions in our government.  Find out how to stop people like Steve Bannon, who promotes the racist "alt-right" movement, or Jeff Sessions, who supports Trump's "Muslim Ban," from influencing our government.

RESIST TRUMP'S BIGOTRY

President Trump routinely made bigoted comments and policy proposals throughout his campaign.  Trump will be our head of state, representing all Americans to the world, and under no circumstances can we accept bigoted comments or proposals from our President. Not only will The Committees call out every bigoted statement or proposal from Trump, we will respond each time by coordinating donations of $3 to organizations dedicated to eliminating bigotry.  Get involved with the Who We Are Initiative to confront bigotry at the highest levels of our government.

Do your part to fight bigotry, sexism, and racism

We all have a role to play every day in creating a more equal and tolerant society.  Remember, even when the most powerful people in the country are promoting bigoted, sexist, or racist ideas, there is always something you can do to move us toward a world where people see each other as equal.
